CIREBON - The Cirebon City Police, West Java, uncovered a narcotics trafficking case controlled from the Gintung Narcotics Correctional Institution (Lapas). The case was uncovered after officers previously arrested a courier who was transacting. "Initially we arrested a person with the initials UJ while sticking methamphetamine in one place," said Cirebon City Police Chief AKBP Fahri Siregar in Cirebon, Antara, Tuesday, September 13. From the information of the suspect UJ, his party received information that he received narcotics from SAS who was in the Gintung Narcotics Prison. According to him, the suspect UJ only followed SAS' instructions in distributing narcotics, because of the evidence of methamphetamine, and all transactions had been controlled by the SAS suspect. "From the results of the interrogation, the suspect UJ admitted that the evidence from SAS, who is a resident of the Gintung Prison, and we have found the suspect," he said. Fahri added that from the suspect's hands, his party confiscated a number of evidences including 53.08 grams of methamphetamine which had been broken down and ready to be circulated, digital scales, mobile phones and others. As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 112 in conjunction with Article 114 in conjunction with Article 127 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics. "With a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, or the death penalty, and a minimum of five years in prison," he said. Meanwhile, the Head of Drugs at the Cirebon City Police, AKP Tanwin Nopiansyah, said that the SAS suspect is currently still at the Gintung Narcotics Prison, and later the person concerned will continue to court. "SAS has become a suspect in prison inmates. The file continues. We are coordinating with Gintung Prison, and we have secured communication equipment," he said.
