Offering For A New Position At PPP, Mardiono Will Take Care Of Suharso Monoarfa This Week

JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) General Chairperson (Ketum) Muhammad Mardiono and other administrators plan to meet Suharso Monoarfa this week. PPP DPP chairman Achmad Baidowi said the meeting would discuss Suharso's position in the new PPP management. It is known that the PPP management under the leadership of Mardiono has received a decree from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and has been handed over to the KPU.

"Yes, God willing, this week. Because he (Suharso) is still busy in Bappenas. We are also busy in the DPR," Baidowi said at the KPU office, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 12.

Baidowi admits that Suharso is his mentor at PPP. He also confirmed that there was still an honorable position for Suharso after being dismissed from the position of Head of PPP.

"Yes, he is. He (Suharso) is a senior, our mentor. We are all cadres of Mr. Suharso," he said. Previously, Acting Chairman of PPP Muhamad Mardiono admitted to meeting with Suharso some time ago. During the meeting, he also discussed political issues but did not discuss positions in the cabinet.

Regarding Suharso's new position in the party, said Mardiono, this has not been discussed again. The reason is, there is an offer that Suharso and Mardiono only exchange seats. Namely Mardiono as General Chair and Suharso as Chairman of the PPP Advisory Council.

"Yes, of course we discussed political issues, right, we are indeed politicians. Not yet (Suharso's conversation with Jokowi) has not. This morning I went straight to the office and came here, so there has been no such communication," he said.

Mardiono said that the change of ministerial position was President Joko Widodo's prerogative. According to him, the party cannot intervene in the presidential decision whether there is a need for a ministerial replacement or not. "If that's the case, we can't enter the area. Therefore, Mr. President's prerogative is, we can't go there," Meanwhile, as a Wantimpres, Mardiono emphasized that he was still waiting for President Jokowi's direction if he had to resign. However, he said, his position as a Wantimpres is different from that of the ministerial position. "If the position is a different space, yes, my office as a member of the board of office considers the president is in the state. My position is in a political space. Now in a different room, of course I am obliged to report to the president on my position. It will depend on what kind of office. Because I am a member of the council, the consideration of the president, I have to be sworn in and obey the legislation. So God willing, I will submit and obey the law at the direction of the president," he said.
