Jihorka's Action To Unload Personal Data Of Public Officials To Make Jokowi Hold A Ratas

JAKARTA - The action of the hacker or hacker named Bjorka has forced President Jokowi to hold a limited meeting.

The President held a limited meeting with a number of Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, September 12, 2022.

The Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate in his statement said that the Head of State instructed the relevant ranks to immediately coordinate and review further regarding the alleged leak of a number of data belonging to public figures including letters addressed to President Jokowi.

"At the meeting it was discussed that there were data circulating by one of them by Bjorka, but the data after being reviewed temporarily are data that are already common, not specific data and not data that is updated now, some of the old data for now. Only cross-ministerial/institutional teams from BSSN, Kominfo, Polri and BIN will of course coordinate to conduct in-depth research," explained Minister of Communications and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate in his statement, Monday 12 September.

The government will also form a team to conduct the next assessments in order to maintain public trust. The team will consist of various elements, such as the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the Indonesian National Police, to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).

There needs to be an emergency response team related to maintain good governance in Indonesia to maintain public trust. So there will be an emergency response team from BSSN, Kominfo, Polri, and BIN to carry out the next assessments," he said.

In addition, the Minister of Communication and Informatics also invites all levels of society to build national strength by working together and maintaining cohesiveness, one of which is in dealing with dangers in the digital space.

The danger in the digital space is of course a digital criminal act. This is what we must protect together, build joint work. Different opinions, that is normal in democracy, respected in democracy. But at a time for the benefit of the country as a whole, let's maintain cohesiveness," said the Minister of Communication and Information.

Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Information said that the government will continue to discuss the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection (RUU PDP). Johnny hopes that the ratification of the PDP Bill can become a new legal umbrella to protect the digital space in the country.

The PDP Bill has been approved at the level I meeting by the Panja Commission I of the DPR RI and the government. We are now certainly waiting for a schedule for discussion and approval at level II, namely the DPR plenary meeting. Hopefully later, with the ratification of the PDP Bill into a PDP Law, there will be a new legal umbrella that is better to protect our digital space," said the Minister of Communication and Information.
