DIY - Australia's Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams, visited Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) on Monday, September 12.

The Australian Ambassadors delegation was received by the Regent of Sleman, Kustini Sri Purnomo and immediately made a visit to the homes of the beneficiaries of the drinking water grant in Mudil Hamlet, Sariharjo, Ngaglik.

According to Kustini, in 2021 access to drinking water in Sleman Regency has reached 100 percent, of which 20.60 percent are pipeline networks, while 79.40 percent are non-pipeline.

"Urban piping networks are managed by PDAM Tirta Sembada, while rural pipeline networks are managed by the community through the Village Tax Drinking Water Supply System (SPAMDes) and the Supply of Drinking Water and Community-Based Sanitation (Pamsimas)," he said, quoted from Antara.

"As of 2022, Sleman has had 63 Pamsimas Villages spread over 16 Kapanewon (sub-districts). Meanwhile, the non-pipeline network in the form of dug wells is owned by the community independently," he continued.

Kustini added, for the sanitation of the Sleman Regency Government, the focus is on providing decent access and safe domestic wastewater. His party, he continued, is committed to completing two percent of the sanitation that is not yet feasible and safe.

"By 2021, access to decent and safe wastewater in Sleman Regency has reached 98 percent. Consisting of 76.23 percent of proper sanitation access and 21.77 percent of safe sanitation access. Meanwhile, the other two percent are not feasible sanitation," he said.

The first grant, namely the Urban Drinking Water Grant Program from the Australian Government (AusAID) which was implemented in 2013 and 2014 to build as many as 2,000 housing connections (SR) for low-income people (MBR). Having received a reimbursement of Rp. 4 billion, with technical implementation is the Sleman Regency PDAM.

Then, the second grant, the Performance-Based Drinking Water Grant Program (AMBK) in 2021 to 2024 with the grant funds to be received as high as IDR 6.99 billion, with technical implementers being the Sleman PDAM.
