JAKARTA - The search for victims of the accident in the Grogol River carried out by the joint search and rescue team (SAR) finally paid off.

After searching for hours, the SAR team managed to find a victim 100 meters from the scene. The victim is already dead.

"We finally found the body of the victim named this morning, then they will be evacuated to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta for the next process from related parties," said Head of the Jakarta SAR Office Fazzli as the coordinator of the joint SAR operation, as reported by Antara, Saturday, September 10.

The victim was the driver of the sedan that was hit by a minibus on Friday, September 9, at around 18.00 WIB on the shoulder of the Jalan Layang Tol Dalam City, Jelambar, West Jakarta.

The victim's vehicle at that time had an engine problem, then the victim tried to check the vehicle on the shoulder of the road. However, suddenly from behind, the minibus vehicle hit the victim's car, causing the victim to fall and fall into the Grogol River under the toll road.

The Jakarta SAR office that received the information then went straight to the scene to carry out the search process.

During the dive, officers also used advanced handheld sonar devices to help find missing persons in the water (Aqua Eye) and underwater search kits (Underwater Search Device) around the scene.

It was done that night until the early hours of the morning, but the victim had not been found.

Joint SAR personnel resumed search for victims on Saturday morning, dividing the area into two.

The first team searched the Grogol River using rubber boats up to a radius of three kilometers from the scene.

Then the second team conducted a search by land with visual observations up to a radius of three kilometers from the scene.

The victim was later found 100 meters from the scene.
