JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) reminded that electronic medical records (RME) must be implemented by health care facilities (faskes) no later than December 31, 2023.

Expert Staff of the Minister for Health Technology as well as the Chief of Digital Transformation Office (DTO) of the Ministry of Health, Setiaji, explained that this regulation change was based on the provisions of the Minister of Health Regulation Number 24 of 2022 concerning Medical Record.

"Fasyankes must implement RME. It is regulated that no later than December 31, 2023, namely in Article 45, must digitize or must record medical records electronically," Setiaji said in a virtual press conference at the Ministry of Health, Friday 9 September.

The regulation also requires that RME be integrated with the KARSEHAT platform belonging to the Ministry of Health and Care to Protect.
