Cool, Prisoners Of Rintis Wirausaha Panen 50 Kg Fungus At Class IIA Prison Curup

BENGKULU - As many as 50 kilograms of ceramic fungi are produced by inmates or correctional inmates (WBP) Class IIA Curup Prison, Bengkulu Province.

Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bengkulu Province, Erfan, said that the tens of kilograms of mushrooms were the first harvest. This is proof, he said, that inmates of Class IIA Curup Prisons can become fungi farmers and pioneer their entrepreneurial spirit.

"This is so that it can be carried out continuously. The head of the prison may change, but the head of the upcoming prison can maintain and improve this business again," said Erfan while attending the mushroom harvest event, Thursday, September 8.

He explained that from all prisons in Bengkulu Province, currently, he has carried out various training and work guidance activities, but for the cultivation of tiramic mushrooms it has only been carried out at Class IIA Curup Prisons.

This fabric mushroom cultivation business carried out by WBP Class IIA Curup, he said, could be imitated by other prisons so that later they can provide knowledge and can meet vegetable needs in prisons and outside communities.

Head of Class IIA Prison Bambang Wijanarko added that the production of tiramic mushrooms is the work of WBP independence, where apart from being marketed in a number of markets in Rejang Lebong Regency will also be marketed to other areas.

"This ceramic mushroom power is quite promising and the price is also quite high. Currently, the selling price reaches Rp. 20,000 per kg," he explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the Rejang Lebong Regency DPRD, Putra Mas Wigoro, who was present at the initial harvest of tiramic mushrooms at the local prison, admitted that he was very impressed by the independence work of the WBP Class IIA Curup Prison.

As an appreciation, he immediately bought up 50 kg of tiramic mushrooms produced by WBP Class IIA Curup Prison and hoped that the expertise found would later become their provision when they return to society.
