Reject The Increase In Fuel: Hundreds Of Students Of The West Merdeka Road Blocking While Fueling The Ban

JAKARTA - Hundreds of students who held demonstrations against the increase in fuel prices (BBM) in the fountain roundabout area around the Horse Statue, Monas, Gambir, blocked the roundabout of Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.

The road blockade was also equipped with fire in the middle of the road.

There was a puff of smoke covering the screams of oration from the loudspeaker car on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat. The demonstration came from BEM Nusantara.

According to Mahendra, a representative from BEM Nusantara, his party demanded that the government immediately lower the price of fuel that had been raised.

"We have deployed 300 masses from various campuses. The demands are still related to the refusal to increase fuel prices," Mahendra told VOI at the location, Thursday, September 8.

The student demonstration was under tight guard from the Central Jakarta Metro Police. A number of police officers dressed freely were deployed.

"So far, the action is still conducive. We are still monitoring, no one has caused a riot. Meanwhile, no one has been arrested," said Head of Resmob Polrestro Central Jakarta AKP Bambang to VOI.
