JAKARTA - Russia is ready to face new challenges as the increasingly escalating supply of long-range weapons to Ukraine by the United States (US) and NATO allies, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said in an interview with International Affairs magazine published Wednesday.

"We see how the US continues to pump up the Kyiv regime with increasingly lethal long-range weapons, how there is an expansion of multiface assistance in areas ranging from intelligence to army training and other unit fighters," Ryabkov said.

"Not only with Americans, but also with many other NATO allies involved in this work. It creates new challenges, and we are ready to face them."

"But we're not ready to speculate that, conventionally, if this caliber bullet is supplied in such quantities, it's a situation. If something else is supplied, then we'll reassess everything," added Ryabkov.

The senior diplomat stressed that there is no shortage of communication channels with Western countries so far, with Moscow having the opportunity to convey its position.

"Therefore, if there are circumstances that require a tougher warning from our side, we will definitely use this channel and in Washington, as well as in the capital of countries that obediently, in reality, turn a blind eye and follow what Washington orders, will clearly understand and realize the level of risk and nature of the consequences that may occur, if they are further exacerbated," he said.

Ryabkov recalled, one element of Russia's initiative to conclude legally binding agreements with the US and NATO about security guarantees is that a warning of a lack of Western willingness to meet Russia's main demands would mean crossing certain red lines.

"I don't think there are many people in the world today who will argue, when this red line is violated, there are consequences, which we have also warned of, signaling that the response is military and technical, where some in the West believe, expect Russia to step down and demonstrate weaknesses. This is not the case," he concluded.
