JAKARTA - Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas), Kompol Purwanta, confirmed that there had been no closure of vehicle lanes at two points of demonstration against the increase in fuel prices (BBM) in Central Jakarta.

However, the Central Jakarta Satlantas intervened in the number of mass participants participating in the demonstration of 3,000 people who will hold an action at the DPR/MPR RI Building in the Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta.

"The rush of action in the DPR is approximately 1,000 to 3,000 people," said Kompol Purwanta when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, September 6.

Kompol Purwanta explained that currently there has been no diversion of traffic around the Kawasam DPR/MPR RI Building.

"It was while there was no diversion of flow, it was possible that it was tentative to see the situation on the ground," he said.

Kompol Purwanta also said that as of 09.30 WIB there had been no mass arrival to the DPR Building so that the traffic flow was still running normally.

"No one has come yet, there has been no closure of the traffic section. It's still normal," he explained.

Meanwhile, the number of mass demonstrations in the Horse Statue area, Monas, Central Jakarta is estimated to reach 1,500 people.

"It will also be the same (the transfer of traffic) at the Horse Statue, at this time there has been no diversion of traffic flow. We will play it in the field later, it is situational," he said.
