BOGOR - The chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP, Puan Maharani, visited the residence of the General Chairperson of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, Sunday, September 4.

Puan's arrival was warmly welcomed by Prabowo Subianto.

"The two of us, as well as PDIP and Gerindra, have agreements and understandings in building the nation," said Puan after talking to Prabowo, Sunday.

Puan said that PDIP and Gerindra agreed that they would continue to explore the same thoughts.

That way, said Puan, the two parties will decide how to establish cooperation that will be formed in the future in order to build a nation and state.

"The pair's receding politics is only a part, but the most important thing is family friendship which is still fostered even though there are different views on towards one political goal, but we remain together and synergize," he said.

Puan said her arrival to carry out a political safari with Gerindra ranks was on the direct assignment of the PDIP chairman, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Not only that, Puan also said that she brought a message from Megawati to Prabowo.

"It's impossible for me to be here if I don't bring a message. And the message was just me and Mas Bowo who knew. If there is no secret, it's not fun," said Puan, greeted by Prabowo's laughter.

"Of course there will be time for Mrs. Megawati herself to meet with the general chairmen," he said.

He added that this meeting was an initial assessment between PDIP and Gerindra in welcoming the 2024 General Election.

"Although later we will compete in determining the number of votes, we must show our commitment that when we compete we compete, but when we compete we must compete," said Puan.

The grandson of the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia, Bung Karno, ensured that the communication space between PDIP and Gerindra would continue to be established in the future.

According to Puan, there are many things that both parties must discuss to lead to further agreements.

"We will continue to carry out longer meetings so that we open communication and space that towards 2024 we agree that everything must be carried out properly and correctly, with one real goal how to carry out the goal of making Indonesia better, greater, and run with mutual cooperation," he explained.

When asked by reporters whether PDIP and Gerindra would form a coalition in the 2024 General Election, Puan stated that it was possible that it would always be there.

Meanwhile, the former Danjen Kopassus did not problem if he was paired with Puan Maharani in the 2024 presidential election.

"If it is possible or not possible, in terms of possible terms, it will be possible. If asked, for the good of the nation and state, why not? Of course this is a long journey. PDIP must think about it, and Gerindra too. For the good of the nation and state, we are ready," said Prabowo.

According to Prabowo, PDIP and Gerindra have many common views.

Especially in terms of ideology among national parties who are always committed to upholding Pancasila, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, National Unity, and Kerakyatan.
