JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate has sent 27 names of candidates for members of the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) for the 2022-2025 period to the House of Representatives (DPR) so that a fit and proper test can be carried out. “ Later the DPR will determine the schedule for the fit and proper test. From the fit and proper test, the DPR chose 9 of the 27 names to become members of the Central KPI for the 2022-2025 period. The next DPR sent the nine names of the Central KPI members to the President to make a Presidential Decree," Johnny said in Bali, as reported by Antara, Saturday, September 3. The open selection process for KPI Candidates has been carried out since March 2022 with the appointment of a selection committee. The "fit and proper test" moment will determine which members will be selected to continue the next stage. The Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics who is also the Chair of the Selection Committee for KPI members, Usman Kansong, stated that the selection committee had fulfilled its duties to submit the name of the candidate for the Central KPI commissioner to the Minister of Communication and Information. The name was proposed after carrying out the committee carried out several stages of selection. “Pansel have completed the announcement stage, administrative selection, paper writing, assessment, interview track record to the determination of 27 candidate names,” Usman said. In accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Communication and Information Number 150 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Central KPI Selection for the 2021-2025 Period, the Head of the Pansel Usman Kansong stated that the work of the Pansel was carried out based on the stages set and the results had been submitted to the Minister of Communication and Information. The Pansel for the Candidates for Central KPI Members for the 2022-2025 Period, chaired by Usman Kansong, with members Ahmad Ramli, Rosarita Niken Widiastuti, Alisa Wahid, Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, RM Samsudin Dajat Hardjakusumah and Justisiari Kusumah, have determined the names of 27 candidates for Central KPI members for the 2021-2025 period on 21 July 2022.
