SULTENG - The Banggai Regency Government said the availability of logistics at the disaster site for victims of flash floods in two villages in East Luwuk District was adequate because many parties distributed donations. "We haven't sorted out the type of logistical assistance, but basically the stock is very adequate. Logistics that poked at instant noodles, mineral water, snacks, basic necessities and so on," said Head of the Banggai Mujiono Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) when contacted, Friday, August 2. He revealed, until the third day after the flood hit Indang Sari Village and Pohi Village, the assistance continued to flow from various parties who were none other than to support the daily needs of flood victims. He admitted that his party could not identify the aid distributed independently by the parties, because it was the right of each person to distribute their assistance. "Even if there are parties entrust our logistics to us at the main post, we will definitely distribute it to disaster victims. There is no prohibition, anyone can distribute aid to affected residents," said Mujiono, quoted by Antara. He explained that the local government distributed scheduled assistance, this was intended to be distributed evenly so that the logistics stock was maintained.

Therefore, he said, BPBD as the person in charge of disaster management activities during the emergency response period, is authorized to provide direction to volunteers and other parties involved, including building coordination and harmonization when carrying out their duties. "In addition to logistics distribution, we also facilitate the distribution of clean water needs in Pohi Village, because there are difficulty with clean water because the river water is still cloudy," said Mujiono. He added that the local Social Service (Dinsos) has also distributed humanitarian assistance in the form of sleeping utensils to flood victims at the refugee camp. "In a situation like this, collaboration is very important so that the acceleration of prevention is more organized, and we have the theme of love for the participation of the parties," he said.
