RIAU - Head of the SMK Development Division at the Riau Provincial Education Office, Yusri Rasul, denied the involvement of unscrupulous employees in his service who asked for some money from parents of prospective students so that they could be accepted at SMK Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. This was conveyed following the arrests made by the Satreskrim of the Tampan Police in arrest the man with the initials SA (57) related to allegations of extortion. Yusri said that there were no employees with the initials SA. "We received a direct report about two days ago. But we make sure there is no involvement of Disdik in the extortion (illegal levies) and brokers," he said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 1. However, he did not deny that his party gave memos and recommendations to schools regarding the existence of prospective students so that they could be accepted in certain schools but no money or fees were taken. "We do not deny that there is a memo addressed to the Principal to include students. However, it reads, 'Please help according to the provisions, please help if possible'. We did not determine or receive any amount of money on the recommendation," said Yusril. According to him, this is what a handful of people take advantage of and take advantage of their parents so that they do not accept that Disdik is said to be involved. "Disdik is committed from the start, that whatever the form, we don't want extortion. If evidence is found of an individual Disdik who commits extortion, of course a verbal and written warning code will be applied," he said. Previously, a middle-aged man with the initials SA (57) was arrested by the Satreskrim of the Tampan Police after defrauding his parents who would include his son as a prospective student at SMK Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. Based on SA's confession, he had received Rp. 16.850 million from the parents of prospective students. However, after the money was deposited, their children were not received at SMKN 4 Pekanbaru and were only given an appointment by the perpetrator. Based on the perpetrator's confession, he is looking for parents who want to include their children in SMK 4 Pekanbaru because they were ordered by someone named AJ who is an employee at the Pekanbaru City Education Office.
