Victims Of Death Accidents In Bekasi Added, Temporary Number 33 People

JAKARTA - The death toll from a container bus accident on Jalan Sultan Agung, Kranji, Bekasi, continues to grow. Data obtained so far, 33 people have died and were injured.

"The number of victims is 33," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Thursday, September 1.

Dozens of people were victims, with details of 23 injured and 10 dead.

Currently, all the victims have been evacuated. They were taken to the hospital and Ananda Hospital.

Latif on the previous occasion also said that of the 10 victims who died, the majority of elementary school children.

Meanwhile, the other three victims are adults. However, until now the identities of the victims have not been detailed.

"There were 7 school children who died," he said.

Based on the results of the interim investigation, the children who were victims were hit while at a bus stop. At the time of the incident, they were said to be gathering.

"They were right to wait for him at the bus stop in the child's position waiting at the bus stop," said Latif.

A fatal accident involving a container truck occurred on Jalan Sultan Agung, Kranji, Bekasi, on Wednesday, August 31. Dozens of people became victims.

Based on the results of the interim investigation, the cause of the deadly accident occurred because the truck driver was sleepy. However, the police are still investigating other allegations.
