JAKARTA A boarding house on Jalan Warung Jati Barat I RT06/03, Kalibata, Pancoran, South Jakarta was reported to have collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, August 31. Meri, one of the local residents, said that before the building collapsed she heard the sound of a big wind. Shortly after, the building collapsed instantly.

"Just like the wind, it's jammed. not long ago, it was straight up. It's dark. The former ruins," said Meri when met at the location, Wednesday, August 31.

Meri is still telling, at the time of the incident the occupants of the boarding house on the second floor were not at the location. There was only one resident of the rented house who was hit by the rubble and has now been taken to the nearest Puskesmas.

Meanwhile, firefighters from Sector VII Pancoran Sub-district said the evacuation post had been going on since 12.30 WIB and was declared complete at 12.50 WIB.

The picket officer, Moch Arief said, the object that collapsed was a building used for rented and boarding houses.

The incident began when a witness named Dahlan's mother heard a voice that the building would soon collapse.

The witness immediately called the owner of the house and gave information to the occupants to get out immediately.

"Not long after the building collapsed, Dahlan's mother reported it to SSC 41 and then it was forwarded to the Pancoran Sector," he explained.

Arief confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident. The impact of the loss from the incident reached Rp500 million.

"The object is a rented house and boarding house with an area of approximately 47 meters. The loss is approximately 500 million. There are no fatalities," he concluded.
