SINGKAWANG - Director of Abdul Aziz Hospital Singkawang, West Kalimantan, Achmad Hardin ensured that health services including operations for patients continued even though floods inundated a number of rooms in the hospital. "Currently, a number of rooms are still flooded, but we make sure the operation is carried out according to schedule, because the operating room is not affected by flooding because the building is a bit high," said Achmad in Singkawang, Antara, Sunday, August 28. His party has also coordinated with other hospitals to jointly treat patients who are emergency. So, if there are patients who need immediate treatment, but cannot be treated, they recommend being referred to other hospitals. Achmad explained that the impact of the flood that submerged Abdul Aziz Singkawang Hospital on Saturday was not only on service, but also on supporting administration and parts such as laundry, laboratories and others. "As for medical services and medicine places, God willing, it is still safe," he said. As of Sunday, he said, in total there were 22 patients at Abdul Aziz Singkawang Hospital who were evacuated, because the patient room was still flooded. "Until today, we have evacuated 22 patients," he said.
