"Until today, we have built 29 dams, this is a large dam, plus nine later at the end of this year," said Jokowi at the Arcamanik Sports Center, Bandung City, West Java, Antara, Sunday, August 28.
According to him, the dams that have been built have been affected by the agricultural sector, especially rice production. The flow from the dam is said to have made rice harvest production increase to double.
"People don't feel it, but the presence of the dam has paid off that we have been self-sufficiency in rice since 2019," he said.
In addition, he said, the access road for people in villages is now better than before, the impact of the Rp468 trillion fund that has been disbursed by the government for village development.
"So 227 thousand kilometers of production roads have been built in villages," said Jokowi.
On this occasion, he reminded that the world has been hit by food crises and energy crises. Based on international institutions, according to him, there are 66 countries whose economy is predicted to collapse due to these crises.
"Therefore, I am happy to be here as well as farmers, which caused three weeks ago we received a certificate from International Rice Research stating that Indonesia's food security system is very good," said Jokowi.
