SUMBAR - The Padang City Police dispersed a group of teenagers who were strongly suspected of being involved in a brawl carrying sharp weapons (sajam) on Sunday, August 28, at around 04.55 WIB.

The police detected it while carrying out operations to create conditions that are routinely carried out every Sunday night to anticipate brawls and illegal racing.

"Initially, information was received from the public about the existence of these gangs, then the personnel involved in creating the conditions were sent to the location in question," said Padang Police Public Relations Section Head Ipda Yanti Delfina in Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), quoted from Antara, Sunday, August 28.

About twenty minutes after departing from the Padang Police Headquarters while carrying out patrols, the police entourage passed by a group of teenagers who were brawl gangs in the East Padang area.

They convoyed motorbikes with more than fifteen vehicles, some of which were seen holding sharp weapons.

When they passed by the officer's car, they immediately rushed and ran into the residents' settlements.

Some of them even managed to escape to the rice fields when they were being chased, while their motorbikes were left at the location.

"There were three motorbikes that were secured from the scene, the vehicles were immediately taken to the Padang Police Office for further processing," he said.

The Padang Police continue to appeal to parents to always supervise their respective children, and not to allow them to leave late at night.

This is done to avoid things that can be detrimental, such as being involved in illegal racing, brawls, or even being a victim of a criminal act.

"We will continue to anticipate illegal racing actions and brawls that have disturbed the public, if found, strict action will be taken," he said.

On the other hand, before disbanding the brawl, the personnel who carried out the operation to create conditions also visited Jalan Khatib Sulaiman, which is often used as an illegal racing area every Sunday night.
