Inspector General Ferdy Sambo: Wants To Resign From Bhayangkara Corps But Refuses To Be Fired Is Dishonorable

JAKARTA - Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's wish to resign from the National Police can be said to have been 'accepted' in a different way. The former Head of the National Police Propam Division was proven to have violated the professional code of ethics so that he was dishonorably dismissed.

That is the decision of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP).

"The dismissal was not respectful as a member of the National Police," said Head of Communications and Security, Komjen Ahmad Dofiri, reading the verdict of the ethics commission hearing Inspector General Ferdy Sambo at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday, August 26 in the morning.

During the ethics commission hearing, there were dozens of witnesses, including Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, Brigadier General Benny Ali, Kombes Agus Nurpatria, Kombes Susanto, and Kombes Budhi Herdi.

Other witnesses, AKBP Ridwan Soplanit, AKBP Arif Rahman, AKBP Arif Cahya, Commissioner Chuk Putranto, and AKP Rifaizal Samual, Bripka Ricky Rizal.

There was also Strong Maruf, Bharada Richard Eliezer, and two witnesses outside the special committee, namely HN and MB. The code of ethics session of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo was led by the Head of Intelligence and Security, Komjen Ahmad Dofiri.

The problem is, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo did not immediately accept. Putri Candrawati's husband chose to appeal the decision to dishonorably dismiss the Police.

"According to Article 69 of Perpol Number 7/2022, allow us to file an appeal. Whatever the appeal decision, we are ready to implement it," said Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

Whereas Inspector General Ferdy Sambo admitted to his actions related to the death of Brigadier Joshua Hutabarat or Brigadier J.

"We confess all our actions, regret the actions we have done to the Polri institution," said Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

Whereas previously Inspector General Ferdy Sambo had submitted his resignation as a member of Koprs Bhayangkara just before the trial began.

Kapori General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed the news. According to him, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo has sent his resignation letter. However, the Police continued to hold an ethics trial against Sambo.

Inspector General Ferdy Sambo is the suspected mastermind behind the premeditated murder of Brigadier Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J.

The other four suspects are Bharada Richard Eliezer, Bripka Ricky Rizal, Strong Maruf, and Putri Candrawati, wife of Ferdy Sambo.

They were charged with Article 340 subsidiary Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
