YOGYAKARTA - The achievement of the implementation of bureaucratic reform (RB) and the Performance Accountability System for Government Agencies (SAKIP) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) occupies the highest position in Indonesia.

This was conveyed by the Deputy for Bureaucratic Reform, Apparatus Accountability and Supervision of the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB), Erwan Agus Purwanto, at Gedhong Pracimasana, Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta.

"SAKIP and RB DIY are in the highest position. RB and SAKIP programs have become a reference for other local governments," said Erwan, quoted from the official website of the DIY Regional Government, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 26.

In the evaluation of SAKIP and RB DIY by the Kemenpan RB, Erwan said that from a series of evaluations carried out, DIY was considered to have been able to implement RB and SAKIP with very good results.

In addition to being an example for local governments, the implementation of RB and SAKIP in DIY, according to Erwan, has even become a reference for ministries and institutions that are trying to improve their RB and SAKIP.

The former Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) asked the Yogyakarta Regional Government to maintain and continue to improve the implementation of bureaucratic reform with various new innovations.

"We heard that there are many new ideas that will be implemented. We hope that these ideas can be successful in their implementation so that we can replicate and issue them to other regions," said Erwan.

Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X said bureaucratic reform in DIY had started since the Decree No. 10 of 46 concerning the change from Pangereh Projo to Civil Service.

The transformation, said Sultan, is not just a term but an effort to change governance from a servant of the state to a servant of the people.

Sultan said DIY was ready to become a national role model and continue to establish partnerships with other regions to maximize bureaucratic reform and SAKIP.

"We are ready to issue distributions and become mentors for provincial and district/city agencies from all over Indonesia regarding the implementation of practical replication in the implementation of bureaucratic reform and SAKIP," said Sri Sultan.
