JAKARTA - East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. officers evacuated a python with a length of nearly 5 meters from a water channel on Jalan Manunggal Bakti, RT 08/11, Kalisari Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta, Friday, August 26, morning.

Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Head Gatot Sulaeman said his party received reports from residents at around 05.55 WIB. After receiving the report, the officer immediately went to the location to conduct an evaluation at around 06.13 WIB.

"We have deployed 3 personnel to the location. The evacuation of the pythons was completed at 06.48 WIB," he said.

The discovery of the python was first noticed by residents at the scene when they returned home from dawn prayers. Then it was reported to the PPSU Kelurahan and continued to the Gulkarmat Sub-Department.

"Initially the snake's head appeared to the mainland. A few hours later the snake's body came back longer to the surface. The snake was found by residents who finished praying," he said.

After being evacuated for a few minutes, the snake was secured by East Jakarta Gulkarmat officers.
