KENDARI - Baubau Police Team, Southeast Sulawesi, arrested a man suspected of murdering a married couple.

Baubau Police Chief AKBP Erwin Pratomo said the perpetrator with the initials AR alias RK (43), a resident of Bunta Village, East Petasia District, North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi.

The perpetrator is suspected to have killed a married couple LM and NS, residents of Bukit Wolio Indah Village, Wolio District, Baubau City.

"The perpetrator was arrested after the Satreskrim Opsnal Team visited the scene to process the TKP (scene) and supporting evidence as well as witness statements. The perpetrator was arrested at a boarding house in Batulo Village, Wolio District, on Tuesday (23/8) around at 21.00 WITA," he said as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 25.

The police chief explained that the chronology of the murder began on Monday, August 15, victim LM contacted the perpetrator to ask to repair the windows of his house.

At that time, the perpetrator and the victim agreed on the work so that the perpetrator began to prepare the tools needed in the form of iron.

The house window repair materials and tools have been delivered by the perpetrators to LM's house and they are just waiting for information on when to work on them. However, LM canceled the job unilaterally, making the perpetrator disappointed and hurt.

Furthermore, the emergence of the perpetrator's evil intentions to kill LM's life. The perpetrator found a used sickle when walking around and passing through the Wangkanapi Village, Wolio District, Baubau City, on Monday (22/8) at around 09.00 WITA.

The perpetrator then took the sickle and bought the handle.

In addition, the perpetrators also buy liquor for consumption. After being influenced by alcoholic drinks, the perpetrator went to the victim's house at around 19.30 WITA after the Isha prayer and had time to talk with the victim.

After the conversation, continued the Police Chief, the victim LM entered the house and was followed by the perpetrator without his knowledge. At that time, the perpetrator immediately took out a sickle tucked into his waist and slashed the back of the victim's neck several times, causing the victim to fall.

"When the perpetrator was killing the victim's life, suddenly the victim's wife, namely NS, came and saw the perpetrator killing her husband's life, NS spontaneously screamed in fear and ran to the kitchen to seek help," he said.

At that time, the perpetrator chased the victim NS and slashed him with a sickle, but did not hit him. The perpetrator then hit the victim with his right hand which made NS fall.

The suspect then grabbed the victim's head and hit it on the floor. In a helpless condition, the victim NS was dragged by the perpetrator to the next room and then killed.

After carrying out the action, the perpetrator took the cellphone belonging to the victim LM and a motorcycle to eliminate the traces.

From this case, the police secured evidence: a sharp weapon, a sickle with a length of 40 cm, a black long-sleeved shirt, a pair of black sandals, black gloves, a Honda Scopy motorcycle with the police number DT 4436 PC belonging to the police. , one cell phone, one women's underwear, one white shirt, one yellow trousers, and one black shirt.

The suspect AR was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code on premeditated murder with the threat of death or life imprisonment or 20 years in prison.
