BENGKULU - The Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) of the Ministry of Finance of Bengkulu Province stated that three villages in Bengkulu were unable to disburse the Village Fund (DD) and the second phase of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) until the end of 2022 because they were caught in a legal case.

The head of Bengkulu's Director General of Treasury, Syarwan, said the three village heads were unable to account for reports of village funds that had been used.

"So the three villages in North Bengkulu Regency and Rejang Lebong Regency for the second phase of village fund raising until the end of the year cannot be carried out," said Syarwan in Bengkulu City, Antara, Thursday, August 25.

The three villages are Lubuk Tanjung Village, Sindang Beliti Ilir District and Perbo Village, North Curup District, Rejang Lebong Regency and Muara Santan Village, Napal Putih District, North Bengkulu Regency.

The reason Lubuk Tanjung Village was unable to disburse village funds was because the village head was arrested by members of the police for a corruption case of misuse of village funds in 2021.

However, in the first stage of distribution of village funds, it has been distributed and based on recommendations from the Law Enforcement Apparatus (APH) to block the Village Cash Account account.

Then for Perbo Village, the village head so far has used the village fund budget but has not made a report on the use of village funds.

So it is indicated that there was embezzlement of funds until his term of office ended on August 2 and could not fulfill the requirements for submitting the second phase of village fund distribution.

As for Muara Santan Village, the village head was caught in a case of embezzlement of village funds and village BLT to meet his personal needs.

Syarwan continued, the non-disbursement of the village funds was caused by irresponsible individuals who only cared about their personal interests.

"And it has an impact on the implementation of village development and programs to improve community welfare," he said.
