JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo ordered his staff to ensure that the electronic catalog (e-catalog) of local products is live and accessible to the government.

"He (President Jokowi) ordered local e-catalogs to be live," said Head of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) Abdullah Azwar Anas after attending a Limited Meeting with the President in Jakarta, Thursday, August 24. Ratas discussed the Acceleration of the Digital Transformation of the Procurement of Goods and Services.

E-Catalog is an online shopping application developed by LKPP, which provides various kinds of local products/commodities needed by the government.

Azwar said that when he was a district head for 10 years, it was very difficult to make an e-catalog of local local products, because the requirements were too many.

Now LKPP has cut the heavy requirements and all districts/cities have e-catalogs.

"The result is now a lot of products that come in," he explained.

He conveyed that LKPP had also cut a long chain related to the process of displaying products in e-catalogs, from previously eight processes to only two processes.

"So in the past there were only 52,000 products in one year, now there are 600,000 products in one year for e-catalogs. Meanwhile, online stores now have 708,835 products, and there are 303,000 merchants. As for the micro in the e-catalog, there are 10,861," he said.

He emphasized that President Jokowi ordered that the creation of e-catalogs was no longer complicated and had to be integrated from one region to another.

"Therefore, LKPP together with the Ministry of Finance, Bappenas, and the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries are working together, thank God the financial system is now integrated," he explained.

Previously, purchases of MSME products by the government had to go through a Fund Disbursement Order (SP2D), except for products under IDR 50 million.

Now with the Government Credit Card (KKP), it is possible to purchase MSME products in the e-catalog.
