JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD refused to name the DPR member who was contacted by Inspector General Ferdy Sambo to make preconditions to believe in the scenario of the shooting of Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J.

"So the MKD is carrying out its duties to gather information whether there are really any DPR members who were contacted by Pak Sambo in this case. The clarification asked for information from me. Because I said that Pak Sambo made pre-conditions so that people believe that there was a shootout and It was Bharada E who shot the killer," Mahfud told reporters at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, August 25.

In his statement at the MKD, Mahfud revealed that he had contacted some of these names for confirmation. However, the member did not pick up Mahfud's phone.

According to the Head of Kompolnas, members of the DPR who were contacted by Inspector General Ferdy Sambo did not commit any violations and were not criminal acts. Therefore, Mahfud MD did not mention the name of the DPR member before the MKD and considered it to be completed.

"So Mr. Sambo made a chronology like that to contact people to believe. Who was contacted? Kompolnas, members of the DPR, editor-in-chief of a large TV station, Komnas HAM. That's what I said in the media. I have clarified the editor-in-chief and was properly contacted by Sambo, invited by Sambo, and some were called by Sambo," he explained.

"I did not contact the members of the DPR first because they were not appointed, secondly, because it was not a criminal act. The person contacted by that person was not a criminal act. Why should they be forced to explain. There may be hundreds of people Sambo contacted to be trusted. It's okay. The important thing is that he doesn't use his position," Mahfud continued.

Mahfud said Inspector General Ferdy Sambo called members of the DPR on Monday, July 11, 2022, a few days after the death of Brigadier J on July 8. According to Mahfud, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo wanted to create an alibi or a false alibi scenario.

"Earlier, the MKD council had agreed that I would come if there was a reported person. Now I have come because I was invited to state that I will not discuss the name of the alleged person there because it is not a crime and my explanation is clear, nothing more than that," he said. Mahfud.

Even though he was asked again, Mahfud still refused to reveal the names of the DPR members who were contacted by Inspector General Sambo.
