Deadly Truck Driver Who Killed 5 People In Cianjur Becomes Suspect, Case Immediately Stopped Because Perpetrators Also Died

CIANJUR - Cianjur Police, West Java, named a truck driver loaded with wheat flour who died in an accident on the Cianjur-Sukabumi Highway after hitting a number of vehicles as a suspect. There were 5 people who died in the accident.

Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Doni Hermawa said that based on the investigation of the crime scene and the investigation carried out with the West Java Police Traffic Directorate and related agencies, the exact cause of the deadly accident was due to the negligence of the truck driver loaded with wheat flour.

"The driver on behalf of Roni forced himself to continue operating even though the truck was not roadworthy. There were even signs that the truck had stopped several times and was forced to run again so that the brakes did not work before entering the scene," said Doni, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 24. .

Unlike the truck, the driver complained that the driver even asked the driver to use the rescue route, but he ignored it. While passing by, the driver kept forcing the vehicle to move until a fatal accident occurred.

"After asking witnesses, including the truck driver who claimed to have warned the driver not to force himself to continue the journey because along the way there were stops and there were several obstacles including the brakes. From there we named the truck driver as a suspect," said the Police Chief.

However, Doni continued that the legal process against the suspect could not be continued or the case was terminated because the truck driver also died along with five other victims in the accident.

A total of six people died after the vehicle they were traveling in was hit by a truck loaded with wheat flour on Jalan Raya Cianjur-Sukabumi, precisely in Bangshadow Village, Gekbrong District, Cianjur, on August 14.

The victims who died consisted of four motorbike riders, one ankle truck driver, and a truck driver loaded with flour which was the cause of the accident. The incident also resulted in three people being seriously injured and had to undergo treatment at the Cianjur Hospital.
