Remind Cadres Not To Be A Burden For PDIP, Megawati: Remember! 2024 General Election All Parties Are Ready

JAKARTA - Chairperson of the DPP PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri reminded her party cadres that victory in the general election was due to the people's choice. Cadres are asked not to forget themselves and not be a burden to the party.

This was conveyed by Megawati in her remarks at the virtual inauguration of the new party office wave VI from her residence on Jalan Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 24.

"Don't forget, you know. Do you think you won? The people won. The people won, once again the people won. Those who love the PDI-P," said Megawati in an electronic message received in Jakarta.

Megawati asked PDIP cadres, including those in the executive and legislative branches, not to forget the hopes that were placed on the party.

"If now you change yourself from someone who used to be an ordinary person with a simple life, then when there is a change with the hope of becoming a middle class, you start to forget," said Megawati.

He also reminded the current situation ahead of the 2024 General Election and its relation to the readiness of PDIP to face the contestation.

"Remember, the 2024 election year, all parties are ready. Until I asked a lot of questions, why are you calm. From the organizational readiness point of view, I'm sure it's ready. What hasn't been is the readiness of the people. Megawati said.

"As long as I am your general chairman, I am said to be fierce. I am the general chairman. If the general chairman is not fierce, the PDI-P will not be able to win twice," he added.

"What do you want. What do you want to be. Answer yes. I will hold you accountable. I will ask one by one before we fight in 2024. Fair, you know. So you can think. If you want to join another party, please. This is democracy. But Don't be a burden to our party, our organization," Megawati continued.

In her mandate, Megawati ordered her cadres to instill enthusiasm in the welfare of the people and win the 2024 General Election. Megawati shared her experience when building the Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) when she entered remote villages.

At that time, Megawati was invited to speak in front of about 30 small people in Jepara Regency, Central Java.

"When they met them, when they met in Jepara, a figure asked me to come, there were 30 people in a simple house," said Megawati.

At that time, said Megawati, Bung Karno's daughter was asked by a figure to convey her mission and identity. The residents in Jepara wanted to hear whether Megawati was really the daughter of the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I said, yes, I am Bung Karno's daughter. What I saw, they initially bowed down, farmers, fishermen, when they heard that they immediately stood up," said Megawati.

The Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia also saw the people he met were very excited. "I have never forgotten in my life, the light from their eyes flickered out," said Megawati.

Megawati also received free support from the residents. The figure also said that he was a Bung Karno loyalist as well as a PNI cadre.

"For me, it is a statement. My wish is that your eyes are so straight, shining," he explained.

Megawati wanted all PDI-P cadres to be passionate about the villagers she met at that time. Megawati also hopes that PDIP can win again for the third time in the 2024 election.
