DKPP Fires Kapuas KPU Member Mastermind For Misappropriation Of Central Kalimantan Regional Election Regional Budget Budget

JAKARTA - The Election Organizing Honorary Council (DKPP) has imposed a permanent dismissal on Kapuas Regency KPU member Budi Prayitno for being involved in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the 2020 Central Kalimantan Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

"Imposing a permanent dismissal sanction on teradu Budi Prayitno as a member of the Kapuas Regency KPU as of the date this decision was read out," said Chairman of the Assembly, Alfitra Salam, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 24.

The case with Registration Number 29-PKE-DKPP/VII/2022 was reported by the chairman and four members of the Central Kalimantan Provincial KPU, namely Harmain, Wawan Wiraatmaja, Sastriadi, Eko Wahyu Sulistiobudi, and Sapta Tjita.

In the main complaint, the five complainants suspected that Budi was directly involved in the procurement of goods and services in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the 2020 Central Kalimantan election at the Kapuas Regency KPU.

DKPP assesses that Budi Prayitno has proven to be an intellectual actor who regulates the procurement of PPE at the Kapuas Regency KPU in the 2020 Central Kalimantan Election using the Kapuas Regency KPU budget for the 2020 Fiscal Year.

DKPP Council member Teguh Prasetyo explained that Budi Prayitno visited one of the PPE provider partners named Syarpani, who was also presented as a witness in the examination hearing.

According to Teguh, Budi went to Syarpani to borrow from the company, provide capital, purchase or purchase PPE, and pay a fee to the company providing goods after signing the contract.

"After the PPE was received, the Kapuas Regency KPU transferred it to the witness' company account. The money was disbursed by the witness and then handed back to the defendant and Otovianus (former Secretary of the Kapuas Regency KPU). Furthermore, the witness (Syarpani) was given a fee of 2.5 percent of the total payment for the procurement of PPE," he explained.

Meanwhile, a member of the DKPP Council, Didik Supriyanto, explained that the combative attitude did not reflect positive values as a transparent and accountable state administrator.

"Even the (competitors) are trapped in corrupt behavior that injures the dignity of the election management institution. This is reinforced by the findings of the KPU inspectorate regarding the high price of PPE and the obligation to refund the state's money," said Didik.

This bad behavior is also reinforced by the determination of the teradu as a suspect, so that it does not reflect behavior that maintains and maintains the honor of the election management institution.
