PEKANBARU - The investigation team from the Roesmin Nurjadin Air Force Base (Lanud) Pekanbaru, Riau, is still investigating the incident of a tire burst of a Hawk 100/200 fighter aircraft during a training exercise.

"The incident did not disrupt the flight schedule at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport," said Head of Information for the Roesmin Nurjadin Airbase in Pekanbaru, Lt. Col. Sus M. Zukri, as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 23.

Regarding the cause of the tire burst incident, he emphasized that the Indonesian Air Force investigation team was conducting an investigation.

The Hawk 100/200 fighter aircraft belonging to the Roesmin Nurjadin Air Force Base (Lanud) Pekanbaru suffered a tire burst on the left rear when taking off during a routine exercise, Monday (22/8).

Zukri said the tire burst incident of the Air Squadron 12 Air Force Base Rusmin Nurjadin occurred while taking off from runway 36 to runway 18.

"As a result of the incident, the fighter plane skidded and left the runway," said Zukri.

The plane was also seen skidding off the runway. However, it is still in the grass area so it does not cause serious damage.

Regarding the condition of the pilot of the plane flying the plane, Zukri explained that the condition in question was in good condition and was undergoing a medical examination at the RSAU dr. Sukirman Air Force Base Roesmin Nurjadin.

The Hawk 100-200 aircraft first arrived in Indonesia in 1997 from England. The fighter jets, apart from Pekanbaru, are also headquartered in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, to be exact at the Indonesian Air Force Squadron 12 and 1.

The Hawk 200 is a single-seat tactical fighter (TT) that specializes in multiple roles in light combat and has the ability to destroy enemy ground defenses.
