JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 112,971 specimens were examined with the results of 4,858 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,323,715 and active cases have fallen by 300 to 48,503 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, August 23.

Today's recovered cases increased by 5,134 cases, bringing the total to 6,117,792 recovered. Then, there were 24 positive confirmed deaths and a total of 157,420 people.

The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 1,470 cases and a total of 1,380,991 cases. Followed by West Java with 1,275 new cases with a total of 1,158,808 cases. Banten has 681 new cases and a total of 325,852 cases. Then, East Java with 506 new cases and a total of 594,764 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,852 recovered cases. Followed by Banten with an increase of 1,125 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 969 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 337 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 106.033,887.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 11.87 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 6,793 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 203,146,408 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,727,467. people underwent a second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 59,658,577 and the fourth dose was 279,026. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
