August Is Not Over But 256 Gamblers Have Been Arrested By Central Java Police

JAKARTA - The Central Java Police said that 256 gamblers from various regions in the province had been arrested during the August 2022 period.

"112 cases have been revealed with 256 suspects," said Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Ahmad Luthfi in Semarang, Monday, August 22, reported by Antara.

According to him, the hundreds of cases revealed consisted of online gambling, lottery to arena games, such as agility, cockfighting, and guessing numbers.

"Including the disclosure of gambling in international (online) networks that were revealed in Purbalingga and Pemalang Regencies," he said.

Meanwhile, during the period from January to July 2022, he said, the police had uncovered 234 cases with 381 suspects in various areas in Central Java.

Luthfi said as many as 35 police stations have enforced gambling crimes indiscriminately.

"It will not stop here and continue," he said.

He emphasized that the police are committed to eradicating gambling and will not tolerate this crime.
