A Total Of 59.14 Million Indonesians Have Received The COVID-19 Booster Vaccine

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force reports that 59,145,320 Indonesians have undergone the third vaccination, according to data compiled in Jakarta, Sunday.

The Task Force reports that 38,614 people have received a booster COVID-19 vaccine per day.

In addition, 14,318 people just received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, bringing the total population that has been vaccinated to 203,116,008 people.

There were 170,614,271 people who had undergone the full dose of vaccination. There are 9,168 people who have received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The government held the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination for health workers, and currently 276,385 people have undergone it.

There are an additional 569 health workers who have received the second booster COVID-19 vaccine.

The Coordinator of the Expert Team for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, asked the local government to encourage the achievement of booster vaccines, especially those that are still experiencing an increase in high cases.

"I am not tired of asking local governments that have not met the target of 30 percent for booster vaccines. In particular, areas that are still experiencing a high increase in cases," said Wiku as quoted by Antara.

Because the effectiveness of the vaccine will decrease after six months for normal adults and three months for the elderly.

Therefore, the role of regional leaders such as governors, mayors, and regents down to the grassroots level in RT/RW is very important to invite the community to carry out COVID-19 vaccinations, including booster doses that are now being intensified by the central government.

"In principle, the government always continues to socialize and protect the community in order to maintain high herd immunity," said Wiku.
