JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the arrest of the rector of a state university in Lampung was related to the alleged receipt of bribes to admit new students. In fact, in the arrest operation (OTT) at least seven people were arrested.

"Regarding the alleged corruption in the bribery of admitting new independent students at the Lampung state university," said acting spokesman for the KPK, Ali Fikri, when confirmed, Saturday, August 20.

However, the identity of the seven detained persons was not clearly disclosed. Ali has so far only said that some of them are rectors and officials of the university.

"The KPK team has so far arrested about 7 people in Bandung and Lampung," he said.

"Including the chancellor and campus officials," continued Ali.

Originally, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out hand arrest operations (OTT) in the Bandung and Lampung areas this morning.

During the OTT process, several people were arrested. Currently, the arrested parties, including the head of the state university in Lampung, have been taken to the KPK's Red and White House for examination.
