13 Months Of Success In Securing Borders In Papua, 445 TNI Soldiers Battalion RK 114 Happy Welcomed By Pangdam Iskandar Muda

PAPUA - A total of 445 TNI Soldiers from the 114th Special Raider Infantry Battalion/Satria Musara Kodam Iskandar Muda completed the assignment of border security in Papua Province.

The return of the hundreds of TNI soldiers was welcomed by the Commander of the Iskandar Muda Military Command Major General Mohamad Hasan at Krueng Geukueh Harbor, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency, Friday, August 19.

"Welcome and thank the soldiers of the TNI Special Raider Battalion 114/Satria Musara TNI who have carried out their duties while in Papua in a healthy and safe manner," he said as quoted by Antara.

The hundreds of TNI soldiers have carried out border security duties in Papua for 13 months starting from 26 July 2021 to 19 August 2022.

"Special Raider Battalion 114/Satria Musara does not only carry out border security duties, but is also tasked with providing territorial guidance around duty posts," he said.

He said the tasks that had been carried out by Special Raider Infantry Battalion 114/Satria Musara included returning residents of Yigi District, Nduga Regency, to their respective homes.

"Previously, residents fled after the shooting of 19 PT Istaka Karya employees by KKB in December 2018. They were sent home by Special Raider Battalion 114/Satria Musara," he said.

Not only that, he said, the task force at the Iskandar Muda Kodam provided assistance to repair houses, places of worship, clean water dams, and roads.

"Then, provide health services and direct assistance to the community with the Honai to Honai Movement Program," he explained.

He hoped that these soldiers could serve as examples for other members of the TNI if they were entrusted with carrying out similar tasks.

He advised all the soldiers who had just returned to make their work experience part of improving the soldiers' abilities so that future tasks could be carried out even better.

"As my instructions to all soldiers of the Iskandar Muda Military Command wherever they are, they must be part of the solution, not part of the problem for the community," he said.
