JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan collaborated with the private sector to provide housing titled Alaspadu and Rumapadu specifically for the middle class in the transit oriented development (TOD) area.

This collaboration is carried out by PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) through its subsidiary PT Integration Transit Jakarta with PT Rukita Bhinneka and PT Cove Living Indonesia.

Alaspadu is a rental residence similar to a boarding house with a co-living concept and Rumapadu is an ownership residence in the form of an apartment. The target residents are workers with an income of between Rp. 7 million and Rp. 20 million per month.

In signing the cooperation, Anies said the DKI Provincial Government was trying to serve the housing needs for people of all walks of life. Not only low-income people, but also in the middle class segment.

"What should not be missed is the middle class economy, some of them are young people who are just starting their careers, but have started living independently. They need housing. Now, to this young group, we are offering a new concept. Now, the state has entered with a new offer, Stay near where you work, stay near public transportation," said Anies at the Alaspadu location, Jalan Kudus Menteng, Dukuh Atas BNI Station, Central Jakarta, Friday, August 19.

According to Anies, the daily expenses of middle class residents living in Alaspadu and Rumapadu can be streamlined because their residences are close to an integrated transportation system.

"How much cheaper it is to live in an area like this. Monthly spending is efficient. Instead of living far away, then every day commuting, both for private vehicles and public transportation," he explained.

Furthermore, Anies explained that the building management did not lose their property because the building was neither sold nor relinquished its ownership, but was managed together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Meanwhile, the cooperation has resulted in 359 units of Alaspadu with details of 106 units ready for habitation and 253 units in the preparation/exploratory stage of cooperation.

Alaspadu residences are spread around three MRT Jakarta stations, namely Rukita Kudus Menteng (54 Units) which is about 550 meters from Dukuh Atas BNI Station, Rukita Jack House Melawai (25 Units) which is 290 meters from Blok M BCA Station, and COVE Sky Cipete (27 Units) which is 700 meters from Cipete Raya Station.

Meanwhile, currently there are 320 units of Rumapadu under construction and located at One Bell Park Apartment, Fatmawati, which is about 1.6 kilometers from Fatmawati Station.
