Police Hand Over Suspect Of Former Khilafatul Muslimin Leaders To The Prosecutor's Office

LAMPUNG - The Lampung Regional Police (Polda) has delegated a former high-ranking Khilafatul Muslimin, Abu Bakar, a suspect in the crime of broadcasting hoax news to the Bandar Lampung District Attorney.

"The Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Lampung Police has officially handed over the suspect Abu Bakar along with the evidence," said Head of Sub-Dit. Penmas of the Lampung Police, AKBP Rahmad Hidayat.

He said that the suspect Abu Bakar along with the evidence had been transferred to the Bandar Lampung Kejari. The delegation of the suspect Abu Bakr with the aim of being able to be further tried.

"We have transferred this case after the Prosecutor's Office has declared the complete case file or P21," he said.

Rahmad explained that in this case, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Lampung Police had examined 19 witnesses and six expert witnesses.

The determination of Abu Bakar's suspect began when he on June 7, 2022 issued false statements and words that were contrary to the law.

At that time, the suspect spread news or false news when the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police arrested Kholifah Khilafatul Muslimin Abdul Qodir Hasan Baraja at the Khilafatul Muslimin Headquarters in Bandarlampung in June 2022.

Abu Bakr in front of the media and a number of citizens of the Khilafatul Muslimin spoke in a loud voice with the words _JOKOWI_ ANTI ISLAMIC GOVERNMENT COMMUNIS, _ BEWARE OF ISLAMIC PEOPLE OF PRAYER ARRANGED,_ so that his words were heard among many people.

"He consciously gave a statement in front of the media and the public. For the case that ensnared him, he was suspected of violating Article 14 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2), Article 15 of Law No. 1 of 1945 concerning Criminal Law Regulations or Article 28 paragraph 2 juncto Article 45 letter a paragraph 2 of RI Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning ITE with a threat of 15 years in prison," he said.
