CIANJUR - Four people died on the spot after the vehicle they were traveling in was hit by a truck that allegedly lost control on the Puncak route, Cianjur, West Java, in Ciloto Village, Cipanas District, Thursday, August 18.

Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Doni Hermawan said the accident that claimed the lives of four motorcycle riders began when the truck with the number B 8580 TXS that was sliding from Puncak to Cipanas lost control when entering a corner.

"The truck lost control when it entered a cornering road in Parabon Village, Ciloto Village, the truck immediately hit four motorcycle riders and one private vehicle until it finally overturned," he said in Cianjur as quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 18.

The motorcyclist who was hit by the truck, he said, was thrown several meters and eventually died with wounds all over his body. The four victims who died were immediately taken to the Cimacan Hospital for a post-mortem.

Until now, his party is still investigating the exact cause of the accident, but it is suspected that the driver on behalf of Solehun, who was seriously injured, could not control the speed of the vehicle until it went off the track and hit four motorcycles and a private car.

"We are still waiting for the driver, who is currently undergoing medical treatment, before being asked for information regarding the accident. Two people were seriously injured, namely the driver and the truck driver," he said.

Meanwhile, according to eyewitnesses who heard a loud crash, they only found the four victims laughing in the middle and on the side of the road. However, according to eyewitnesses, residents around Yudi Peloy said that at this location, accidents often happened to passersby because they did not control the terrain.

"Most of the passing motorists have not mastered the terrain, so when the road descends and bends they are surprised. This is the fifth time an accident has occurred in the past week, most of which are caused by failed brakes and the driver does not control the terrain," he said.
