Former Mayor Of Cimahi Allegedly Bribery Ex Investigator Stepanus Robin And Receive Gratification

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still investigating the former Mayor of Cimahi Ajay M. Priatna at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. He was picked up on Wednesday afternoon, August 17, yesterday.

"The KPK team is currently still investigating the suspect," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Thursday, August 18.

This pick-up was carried out because investigators had pocketed evidence to develop the bribery case that had ensnared Ajay. He is alleged to have given bribes to former KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju and lawyer Maskur Husain and received gratuities.

However, Ali has not detailed the giving or receiving. He only said that the construction of the case against Ajay would be presented at a press conference.

"After going through the investigation process and it was found that there was sufficient evidence, the KPK stepped up the investigation process in the form of allegations of accepting gratification within the Cimahi City Government and giving bribes to Stepanus Robin Patuju and Maskur Husain," said Ali.

"Detailed developments will be announced soon," he continued.

Ali ensured that the KPK would resolve every case it handles. All investigations will be carried out in accordance with the applicable law.

"KPK also continues to strive for effective handling of corruption in order to immediately provide legal certainty to related parties," he said.

Previously, Ajay arrived at the KPK on Wednesday, August 17 at 11.15 WIB. There was no information from him when he was taken into the KPK's Red and White House.

Meanwhile, Head of Class I Sukamiskin Bandung Prison Elly Yuzar said Ajay had been released from his sentence. So, he doesn't want to talk more because inmates outside the prison are no longer his responsibility.

"We don't know what happened outside the prison, right. This means that he was released this morning at 10 o'clock.

For information, the Mayor of Cimahi Ajay M Priyatna was sentenced to two years in prison for a corruption case of bribery to smooth the licensing of a hospital project.

The verdict was lighter than the demands made by the KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU), namely a 7-year prison sentence. He was then detained at the Sukamiskin Class I Prison, Bandung.
