MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said that the Medan Bloc Post is believed to be able to restore the economy of creative economy players and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) faster in Medan City.

"PT Pos Indonesia and PT Ruang Kreatif Pos have utilized assets at the zero point of Medan City to become Pos Bloc Medan, thus opening up space for creative economy players and MSMEs," Bobby said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 17.

The economy cannot run alone and a domino effect is needed to other areas in North Sumatra, he said when attending the MSME bazaar and at the same time introducing the Medan Bloc Post.

Therefore, the Medan City Government appreciates PT Pos Indonesia's efforts to revive the economy in the regions, including Medan City through its assets.

The mayor also reminded creative economy actors and Medan City MSMEs in particular, that competition, both creativity and excellence, must occur.

Data from the Medan City SME Cooperative Agency data shows that the number of MSMEs in this area is 27,753 units, consisting of 22,213 micro-enterprises, 5,447 small-scale businesses, and 103 medium-sized businesses.

"That's why the MSME actors who are accommodated in the Pos Bloc are limited, not because they are exclusive. If you want to carry out economic activities, you must be prepared well so that you have something superior," explained Bobby.

The CEO of Ruang Kreatif Pos, Jimmy Saputro, said that Pos Bloc Medan only accommodates 80 creative economy players and MSMEs from the many potential participants who register.

"Medan has an extraordinary 'spirit', and no other region has. Of course this is a big capital for us to move on. Hopefully, Pos Bloc will become the new face of the creative industry in the city of Medan," he said.
