Dark Clouds In Tambora During The Indonesian Independence Day, 6 People Died As A Result Of The Boarding House Fire This Morning

JAKARTA - A boarding house in Duri Selatan Village, Tambora District, West Jakarta caught fire this morning. Six people died and three people suffered burns.

"There are six deaths and three burns. So the total number of victims is nine," said Head of Tambora Police Commissioner Rosana Albertina Labobar, when confirmed, Wednesday, August 17.

When asked about the initials of the victim, Rosana said that she was still in the process of collecting data. He only confirmed that the three victims who suffered burns were currently undergoing medical treatment.

At the same time, the Head of the Tambora Sector of the Gulkamart Jakarta, West Jakarta Sub-dept., Joko Susilo explained the chronology of the fire.

It started when the community reported the fire incident at 06.36 WIB.

"We received a report at 06.36 WIB that there was a shophouse that was used as a boarding house on fire," Joko explained as quoted by Antara.

Based on the report, his party then went to the location with a force of five pump cars and 25 personnel.

Arriving at the location, it was seen that the second floor of the shop was burned. The officers immediately put out the fire.

Because the fire could not be controlled, the officers finally added personnel to the total number of units that were deployed as many as 20 pump cars and 100 officers.

The victims who died or suffered burns were thought to be trapped in the burning boarding house. After some time, the process of extinguishing the fire was finally brought under control at around 07.30 WIB.

Until now, Joko suspected that the fire was caused by an electric short circuit from the second floor of the shophouse.

"Allegedly due to a short circuit in one of the rooms on the second floor," he explained.
