DENPASAR - The South Denpasar Police Sector Team, Bali, arrested a project worker named Rohmat (39), the perpetrator of the mugging of French Caucasian Noemie Chloe Sancelme. Police shot the perpetrator in the leg for resisting.

"In the case of theft against a French citizen, at the time of development, the person concerned resisted, so we must take decisive and measurable action to paralyze him," said South Denpasar Police Chief (Densel) Kompol Made Teja Dwi Permana at the South Denpasar Police Headquarters, Monday, August 15.

The perpetrator is known to be a robbery specialist in the Sanur area who has acted twice. Finally, the perpetrator snatched a foreigner from France on Jalan Sekar Waru, Sanur Kauh Village, South Denpasar, on Tuesday (9/8).

The victim who went to the beach on a bicycle was grabbed by the victim who was riding a motorcycle. The victim's bag was stolen.

Before carrying out the action, the perpetrator had followed the victim from Jalan Danau Tamblingan, Sanur. When the situation is quiet, the perpetrators snatched French Caucasians.

"For a total loss of Rp. 4 million for the victim and the victim immediately reported it to the South Denpasar Police," he added.

From the victim's report, the police arrested the perpetrator on Jalan Diponegoro, Pesanggaran, South Denpasar.

"He has done the action twice. (The motive) is to register school children. The modus operandi is, the perpetrator grabbed the victim with his motorbike and took the victim's belongings," said the South Korean Police Chief.

The perpetrator is charged with Article 362 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a maximum imprisonment of 5 years.
