Ministry Of Religion: 8 Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Still Being Treated In Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) reports that there are still eight Indonesian pilgrims who are sick and being treated in Saudi Arabia after the end of the operation of the 1443 Hijri / 2022 AD Hajj pilgrimage.

"Let's pray together that sick worshipers will be given speedy recovery and soon be able to return to their respective places of domicile," said Head of the Ministry of Religion's Public Relations, Data and Information Bureau, Akhmad Fauzin, as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 15.

Akhmad said the government would continue to visit and provide assistance through the Office of Hajj Affairs (KUH) of the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah until the congregation in question is healthy and can be repatriated entirely to the country.

According to him, families of sick congregational members can follow the health developments of their family members through the offices of the Ministry of Religion of the city/regency as well as the Regional Offices of their respective provinces.

"The government ensures that the costs of sick pilgrims are fully guaranteed by the government," he said.

Meanwhile, the congregation who died increased by one person in the name of Tri Wahyu Sulistyoningsih, passport number C70 34 939, SOC group 16, from the Solo Embarkation.

"So the number of pilgrims who died to date is 90 people," he said.

As for the details, 27 died during the pre-Armuzna period (Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina) from June 4 to July 7, 2022, 16 pilgrims died during the Armuzna period on July 8-12 2022. While 47 other pilgrims were declared dead during the period after the peak of the Hajj. Armuzna, July 13 until now.

In addition, on Monday, Saudi Arabian Hajj Organizing Officers who are assigned to the Airport Work Area and Medina Work Area will be repatriated.

"The repatriation process will end on August 20, 2022," said Akhmad Fauzin.
