JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party and PKB officially form a coalition for the 2024 presidential election. The decision is considered to have positive and negative impacts.

As stated by political observer from Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin. The plus point is that Gerindra and PKB open up space for the public to assess their background, political achievements, and programs as the party that carries the presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"The public can judge that they can assess the vision, mission, program, as well as its advantages and disadvantages from a long time ago," said Ujang when contacted by VOI, Sunday, August 14.

Meanwhile, the negative impact is that the declaration of this coalition can make political opponents of Gerindra and PKB maneuver to carry out negative campaigns.

For example, these political opponents will look for weaknesses to the shortcomings of Gerindra-PKB, as well as the presidential and vice-presidential candidates that they carry in the presidential election. Moreover, negative campaigns are not prohibited as long as they are in accordance with the existing facts.

"The drawback is that on the way forward, political opponents will find it easy to read and dismantle the coalition," said Ujang.

For information, the Chairperson of the Gerindra Party and General Chairperson of the PKB Muhaimin Iskandar officially signed a charter of coalition cooperation for the 2024 Presidential Election at SICC Bogor, West Java, Saturday, August 13.

The signing of the coalition charter was witnessed by thousands of Gerindra and PKB cadres from regional representatives throughout Indonesia.

The Daily Chairperson of Gerindra's DPP Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and the PKB Deputy Head Jazilul Fawaid read out the contents of the agreement.

"One, in order to realize sustainable and sustainable national development, the Gerindra and PKB parties cooperate in the 2024 simultaneous elections," said Dasco.

"Two, the cooperation between the Gerindra Party and PKB is based on a shared vision to accelerate Indonesia's development in a sovereign, just, prosperous, prosperous manner, and actively encourage the acceleration of world peace," continued Jazilul.
