BENGKULU - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Bengkulu City Police (Polres) arrested a rape suspect with the initials HH (36). Barbarically, the victim of HH's rape was PS (14), his own biological son.

"The suspect has had intercourse with his own biological child for a long time," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bengkulu Police AKP Welliwanto Malau in Bengkulu City, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 12.

Chronology of events occurred when the victim was 10 years old. At that time, the victim's mother was not at home. This happened repeatedly for four years, until the victim reported it to the police.

According to him, the victim did not dare to report the actions of his biological father because he was threatened by the suspect not to be given pocket money until he needed to go to school.

"So the victim told her what happened to her neighbors and immediately reported the matter to the police," he said.

Malau said that currently the victim has been taken to a psychiatrist to receive treatment and relieve trauma.

In addition, based on the results of medical examinations such as ultrasound examinations and pregnancy test kits, it was found that the victim was not pregnant.

For this act, the suspect was charged with Article 81 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning the Law on the Protection of Children and Women with a maximum sentence of 15 years.

Currently, the suspect is still undergoing further examination at the Bengkulu Police, and the victim has received assistance from the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Bengkulu Police.
