Study Center Building Collapses, A Number Of MIN Banda Aceh Students Injured

BANDA ACEH - A number of students from Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) 2 Banda Aceh were injured when their study hall collapsed when a building was being built next to the school.

"When the children were reading the Koran, suddenly there was a sound, a building was being built on the recitation hall, six people were injured," said one teacher at MIN 2 Banda Aceh, Syarifah, in Banda Aceh as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 11.

The incident occurred around 15:00 WIB. At that time, a number of 3rd grade students were conducting recitation activities in the hall.

Suddenly the triangle (roof truss) of the building that was being built next to it fell on the canopy of the recitation hall and finally hit the student who was reading the Koran.

One of the local residents who saw the incident Helmi said the victims who were hit by the building were around 12 people, and three of them suffered serious injuries.

"There were 12 students, but there were some who were seriously injured, three I myself picked them up," said Helmi.

After the incident, a team from the Public Safety Center (PSC) 119 of the Banda Aceh Health Service came to the location to pick up the students affected by the accident to be taken to the Zainoel Abidin General Hospital (RSUZA) Banda Aceh.

"Ten students were injured and we took them to the RSUZA, there was also one parent of a student injured in the hand," said the Banda Aceh Health Office PSC 119 team, dr Ika Mauliana.

Dr. Ika said that among the students there were injuries to the head because the zinc fell down due to the fall of the upper building which was under construction next door.

After the incident, the parents of the students continued to come to pick up their respective children.
