JAKARTA - Head of the Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Eko Prasetyanto asked local governments to improve the quality of public service malls (MPP).

"One of the efforts made by the government to find out the level of satisfaction from the community is to form an MPP, meaning that there needs to be breakthroughs and innovations," said Eko in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 11.

He explained that public service is very important. It is related to the three tasks of government functions, namely public regulation, public good, and public empowerment.

In providing these services, he continued, local governments need to pay attention to the level of community satisfaction.

Eko said that the existence of MPP has been regulated in Law (UU) Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government, precisely in Article 344 to Article 353. In the regulation, the article explains about public services and the principles that cover it.

"One of the things we need to pay attention to, in addition to affordability, speed, convenience, is also the interests of the community, even security," he said.

This was conveyed by Eko when giving directions at the Workshop on the Implementation of Public Service Malls in the Regions which took place in Bandung Regency.

The workshop was held aimed at mapping the conditions for implementing MPP and the characteristics of integrated licensing services in the regions.

Eko hopes that the event can be the right place for the central government and local governments (Pemda) to exchange information and experiences. This is important to support the establishment and implementation of a better MPP.
