The Case Of The Murder Of Brigadier J, Komnas HAM Collects More Information From The National Police Laboratory For Bullets And CCTV

JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) of the Republic of Indonesia has again collected a number of information from the Puslabfor team at the National Police Headquarters related to the case of the death of Brigadier J.

"The National Police Labfor team came to fulfill Komnas HAM's invitation and provided information related to ballistics and other forensics," said Komnas HAM Commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 10.

At a meeting between the National Police and Komnas HAM team, a number of things were conveyed, including the five digital video recorders (DVRs) or CCTV recordings. Next, the agency also gets information or data from a mobile phone unit.

Finally, Komnas HAM also obtained information related to ballistics. This relates to the number of bullets that have been checked in the laboratory, the weapons used, including the matter of powder from the former shot.

Not only that, said Beka, Komnas HAM was also given an explanation regarding the metallurgical analysis or anything related to the metal composition or the bullets used.

In line with that, another Komnas HAM Commissioner Mohammad Choirul Anam said that at first the agency had asked for information about DVR or CCTV footage but at that time the police had not been able to fulfill it.

Specifically regarding the CCTV footage, Komnas HAM also asked about all matters relating to surveillance cameras, including whether the truth was damaged or not, the reason for the damage and so on.

Then, which is no less important, the explanation of bullets, bullet casings and bullet fragments is also scientifically checked. This includes bullets found to be identical or not to the weapons that Labfor gave to investigators.

Regarding fingerprints on weapons, Anam said it must refer to the Inafis Polri team. Meanwhile, Komnas HAM has not yet reached that stage.
