Perpetrators Of Harassment Who Blow Cigarettes On Students In Surabaya Arrested

SURABAYA - The Surabaya Police have arrested a new perpetrator of assault and a student burning cigarettes in the neck of a student in his area. The perpetrator with the initials AV, 22, played a role in beating and burning the victim's neck with a cigarette.

"There are four perpetrators who have been arrested. One perpetrator who has just been arrested is AV, who beat the victim, and also burned the victim's neck with a cigarette," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Surabaya Police AKBP Mirzal Maulana, confirmed, Wednesday, August 10.

AV is the fourth suspect who was just arrested on Monday (8/8), after the police interrogated three other suspects.

"Officers then managed to sniff out the whereabouts of the perpetrator, and secured the suspect on Jalan Seledri, Kedungcowek, Surabaya. Suspect AV and evidence were taken to the Surabaya Police Headquarters for further investigation," he said.

Previously, three high school students in Surabaya with the initials D, SL, and RZ were victims of persecution by a number of youths. This incident began with a series of riots during a student futsal match between SMAN 7 Surabaya and SMK dr Soetomo, Saturday, July 30, 2022.

One of the victims, D, admitted that he had been abused by a group of people who were suspected to be alumni of a high school in Surabaya. The three victims were beaten with paving and burned with cigarettes.
