Accusing Ukraine Of Deliberately Killing Detained Troops, Foreign Minister Of Parliament: They Gave Unpleasant Testimony

JAKARTA - Foreign Minister of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Natalia Nikonorova said Ukraine attacked the prison where their troops are being held in Yelenovka, because prisoners began to testify against Kyiv.

"They decided to kill their own soldiers who we captured. We understand very well why they did that and why they made that move. It's because these detainees started to testify and this testimony is very uncomfortable, unpleasant for the Ukrainian Government, for exposing all orders. criminals they accept here on the front lines," Nikonorova explained as quoted by TASS 10 August.

"They openly talked about all the atrocities they committed. Therefore, apparently to cover up their actions, the Ukrainian authorities gave the order," he continued to reporters, while visiting the prison.

Nikonorova traveled with the Chair of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, as well as a group of journalists and foreign experts.

Slutsky himself said 47 prisoners died on the spot, while 70 others were injured in the attack. Four of the injured died some time later.

It is known that the attack on prisons occupied by Ukrainian troops, including those of the Azov Battalion, occurred on July 29 and hit a unit that houses 193 prisoners.
